主讲人简介：

刘国材教授，公共行政学界知名华裔学者，美国中佛罗里达大学教授、美国公共管理学会（ASPA）前会长，主要研究领域为组织行为和发展、经济发展（州、地方和全国）、公共预算和财政、政策分析和评估、中国大陆和台湾的公共管理与公共政策等，曾在Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, American Review of Public Administration等国际知名刊物上发表高水平学术论文。

Presentation Title：

Sustainable Development and Public Governance: Concepts and Challenges.

Presentation Framework：

This presentation examines the relationship between sustainable development and public governance to understand major concepts and related challenges. The presentation provides reviews of theoretical concepts and issues and practical examples in the U.S. and in China, The presentation includes the following sections:

(1) Concepts of Sustainable Development

(2) Concepts of Public Governance

(3) Sustainable Challenges in the US

(4) Sustainable Challenges in China

(5) Governance Concerns/Challenges in Sustainable Development

Bio Statement of Speaker:

Dr. Kuotsai Tom Liou is a Professor of Public Administration at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Liou teaches courses in Public Organization Management, and Advanced Concepts and Applications in Public Administration. His research areas include government reform, public organization management and behavior. He has published 6 books and over 60 referred articles and book chapters.  

Dr. Liou has served as the Department Chair, Director of the Ph.D. program and the MPA program. Dr. Liou is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and Past President of the America Society for Public Administration (ASPA, 2012-13).
